Great news for South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) Gold Cardholders! The recent technical issues that caused problems for SASSA customers using Postbank SASSA Gold Cards have now been fixed.

This means that if you have one of these cards, you can once again access your social grant money through ATMs and Post Office branches.

SASSA Grants Were Halted Due to Technical Difficulty at Postbank

Older people waited in line outside the Postbank in Kliptown, Soweto.

The trouble began when some customers couldn’t use their SASSA Gold Cards to withdraw money or conduct transactions at ATMs and Post Office locations. This issue has been resolved, and things are back to normal.

If you tried to withdraw money from your account and it didn’t work due to this technical problem, don’t worry. The Postbank is working on reversing those transactions.

This means that any money that was deducted from your account incorrectly will be put back into your account. However, it might take up to 24 hours for this process to complete, so please be patient.

The technical teams at Postbank are also working hard to make sure that all transactions at retailers go smoothly. Some intermittent challenges are still being worked on, but they are doing their best to fix them.

To all the SASSA Gold Cardholders who experienced inconvenience because of this issue, the Postbank apologizes and thanks you for your patience. They promise to keep you updated with any new developments.

Why Can’t South Africans Access Their Grant Money

It’s important to note that this technical problem had nothing to do with the SASSA Gold Cards themselves.

So, don’t worry if you see an expiry date on your card. Your card is still valid for accessing your social grant payments

The Postbank will replace your card when the time comes, as they have been granted a card replacement period by the Reserve Bank.

Using Your Postbank SASSA Gold Card

If you have a Postbank SASSA Gold Card, you can now use it to access your social grants money at ATMs and Post Office branches again. If you had problems with your account recently, the money will be returned to you, so give it a little time.

And remember, your SASSA Gold Card is still good to use, even if it has an expiry date on it. Postbank will replace it when necessary.
