The SABC Radio Matric Support Shows return in 2025 to give Grade 12 learners the best chance of success in their final exams. This initiative is a partnership between the Department of Basic Education (DBE), SABC Education, and other education partners.
The shows provide free curriculum-based lessons, exam tips, and motivational guidance to learners across South Africa. They are broadcast in all 11 official languages, reaching learners in cities, townships, and rural communities.
Subjects Covered and Curriculum Focus
The Matric Support Shows are aligned with the National Senior Certificate (NSC) curriculum and cover the following subjects:
Mathematics – Algebra, functions, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, exam techniques.
Mathematical Literacy – Finance, measurement, data handling, interpreting real-world scenarios.
Physical Sciences – Mechanics, electricity, chemical equilibrium, acids and bases, organic chemistry.
Life Sciences – Human physiology, genetics, evolution, ecology, long question strategies.
English First Additional Language – Set works, grammar, essay writing, comprehension.
Accounting – Financial statements, cost accounting, budgets, year-end exam prep.
Economics – Microeconomics, macroeconomics, growth, development, essay planning.
Geography – Climate, geomorphology, GIS, human settlement, economic geography.
History – Apartheid, Civil Rights Movement, Cold War, democracy and transformation.
Business Studies – Business operations, human resources, CSR, case study revision.
