To mitigate the impact of the water interruptions on residents, the municipality has strategically placed both mobile and stationary water tankers to ensure communities continue to have access to water during the maintenance period. This effort targets vulnerable areas in Benoni, Daveyton, Etwatwa, KwaThema, Springs, Brakpan, Nigel, Duduza, Tsakani, Vosloorus, and Boksburg.

Water Tanker Deployment

The City of Ekurhuleni has allocated both mobile and stationary water tankers to ensure that residents have ongoing access to water.

Mobile Water Tankers: Roving to Serve Your Area

Mobile water tankers will rove (move around) specific wards, providing water to locations based on demand. Below are the key allocations:

Etwatwa

  • Wards 65, 66, 67, 26, and 109 each have mobile tankers deployed.

Daveyton

  • Mobile tankers are assigned to wards 68, 69, 70, 96, 71, and 110.

Benoni

  • Mobile water tankers will serve Crystal Park Spar, Spyker St & McAlpine Rd, Mackenzie shopping centre, and Msholozi informal settlement.

KwaThema

  • Mobile tankers will serve hospitals, Spar areas, Springs CBD, and multiple wards in KwaThema, including wards 74, 77, 78, 80, 82, and 111.

Nigel

  • Ward 88 and surrounding areas will be served by mobile tankers.

Duduza

  • Tankers will move through wards 86, 87, 98, and 111.

Tsakani

  • Mobile water tankers cover wards 79 through 112, including Langaville extensions, Tsakani proper, and other suburbs.

Springs

  • Persida, Modder East Garage, Dersely Park Shops, Springs Mall, Wright Park Engen Garage, Selcourt Estate Engen Garage, and Slovo Park Clinic.

Brakpan

  • Mall at Carnival (Engen Garage), Pick ‘n Pay parking in Brakpan North, Minnebron Shops, Leachville (Cnr Boven & Jacaranda Streets), and Golf Reef Village.

Vosloorus

  • 25 locations including schools, parks, clinics, taxi ranks, and hospitals across various extensions.

Boksburg

  • Water tanks at Klippoortje (two intersections) and Groeneweide (Tunny St and Kabeljou St).

Nigel

  • Community centres, clinics, and streets such as Rhodes and Milner.

Duduza

  • Duduza CCC, main clinic, and multipurpose centre.

Tsakani

  • Tsakani CCC, fire station, clinics, and Geluksdal old age home.
