The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) released a statement on the 2nd of August 2022 alerting NSFAS beneficiaries that they do not need to sign their bursary agreement form.
This comes after a system glitch wherein some NSFAS funded students received an email requesting them to accept their NSFAS Bursary Agreement (NBA) via their myNSFAS portal.
No Need for NSFAS Beneficiaries to Sign the Bursary Agreement Form
If you are one of the students that received the email communication, please note that you do not need to sign the NBA as you have already accepted the Terms and Conditions during the application process.
With that being said, not signing the agreement or returning the NBA to NSFAS will not affect the payment of funds.
All recipients of the email communication are advised to verify that the email communication they receive is from an official NSFAS address which is no-reply@nsfas.org.za before clicking on any links.
If you received any suspicious email, please report it to the NSFAS vuvuzela hotline:
- Phone: 0860 247 653
- Email: www.nsfas@thehotline.co.za
- SMS: Call back Number to 30916
- Or Visit: http://www.thehotline.co.za
For new applicants, applications for the 2023 academic year will be open from the 1st of September till the 30th of November 2022.
